The recent 2017 rain season was unpredictable and often brought heavy down pours that often mislead farmers. Volumes of water increased beyond the carrying capacity of the modern rain gauge, meaning the records put on paper were actually not the exact amounts received because rain gauges would overflow after the harsh storms.
However, my new 3course rain gauge operates in a similar way as the modern rain gauge but has a carrying capacity of more than 3 times the modern gauge's capacity. She is built from cheap recycled material which makes her environmentally friendly. The increased capacity also means farmers can place this rain gauge as far as 12km from their residents not worry about recording small amounts of rain (showers) received between the main rain falls.
